Industrial and equipment use
Not just for cameras.
Plenty of machines still store programs, backups and samples on CompactFlash. Customers use this reader to:
- CNC machine controls: copy part programs and backups on the CF cards used in CNC controls, for example for Fanuc controls through a CF-to-PCMCIA adapter.
- PLCs and operator panels: back up and transfer CF cards for older automation panels, for example for the original Allen-Bradley PanelView Plus.
- Network equipment: stage and back up files on CF cards for older Cisco ISR routers and ASA firewalls.
- Samplers: load samples onto CF cards for Akai MPC samplers and for the Elektron Octatrack.
- Retro computers: prepare CF cards for Amiga and other retro computers that use CF-to-IDE adapters.
Before you use a card in your machine: format it in the machine, or exactly as the equipment manual says. Many CNC controls need FAT16 and 2 GB or smaller. If your computer asks to format a card that came out of a machine, click Cancel. The card may use a file system your computer cannot read, and formatting erases it.
This reader takes CompactFlash (CF) cards only. It does not read CFast, SD, native PCMCIA/ATA flash or SRAM cards, or chart and data cartridges. Brand and model names identify equipment only. PixelFlash is not affiliated with or endorsed by these manufacturers.
